Mina’s Fish House
Ever heard of a Fish Sommelier? Don’t worry, neither had we. But then again, it’s not exactly a thing outside of Mina’s Fish House, a restaurant inside Four Seasons in Oahu. One of the things that makes a great character is uniqueness and being the only Fish Sommelier in the world certainly fits the bill for that.
This film features Ryan Houser, Mina’s Fish Sommelier. Ryan takes a lot of pride in not only bringing in the daily catch for the restaurant, but also working with the Chef to craft the daily special plate with his catch, then meeting the restaurant patrons at their table. He is in a unique position to not only discuss the day’s catch, but also educate people about the importance of taking care of our oceans, responsibly harvesting fish for food and helping them experience the most exquisite fare the Pacific Ocean has to offer.
This character film highlights the ability of a story to connect hotel guests and restaurant patrons to an employee who personifies the values held by the business. It goes beyond just the “resume” of the character and shows us why they love what they do. Guests who may see Ryan’s story on the hotel website will know about him when he arrives at their table to talk about the day’s catch.
